2017 Summer Programs

DSCN0971Learning meets fun with our Wild Adventure Summer Programs. We offer day programs for students in grades k-9 featuring daily interactive activities, exposure to over 115 species of wild and exotic animals in Southwick’s Zoo, over 200 acres of wetlands, forests, and native habitats to explore, arts and crafts!

Items for students to bring:

Water bottle, lunch, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat/visor, backpack (to include extra clothing such as socks, t-shirt, sweatshirt, old sneakers, rain coat)

Adventures & Ecosystems

June 26-30, 9:00am-4:00pm
Adventures & Ecosystems Grades 4-6

Non-Member: $335 / EARTH Member: $295
Each day of this program focuses on a different ecosystem. Students will learn the characteristics of each ecosystem, what animals live there, and what adaptations these animals have to allow them to survive in their habitats.

Introduction to Animal Ecology Grades K & 1

Non-Member: $150 / EARTH Member: $125
This shorter, 3 day program for younger children provides a fun basic introduction to animal ecology. Students participate in a number of hands on activities, arts and crafts, and more.

July 10-14, 9:00am-4:00pm
Animal Behavior Grades 2 & 3

Non-Member: $335 / EARTH Member: $295
Students will look at what makes each type of animal unique and their adaptations that make them best suited for where they live. Kids will learn through hands on activities and even meet a few of our animals up close and personal.

Teen Zoology Grades 7-9

Non-Member: $395 / EARTH Member: $350
This program is for older students interested in learning about careers relating to zoology. Students will spend time at the zoo as well as attending off site excursions including a whale watch and trip to The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.
